What is Ayurveda?
Considered by many scholars to be the oldest healing science and art, practiced in India for thousands of years, Ayurveda is a holistic approach to health helping people live long, healthy, and well-balanced lives. The term Ayurveda is taken from the Sanskrit words ayuh, meaning life or lifespan, and veda, meaning knowledge or study. The practice of Ayurveda prevents and treats imbalances that can lead to illness. It does this by creating and maintaining equilibrium in the body, mind, and consciousness through proper diet, lifestyle, herbal remedies, yoga, meditation and other treatments. Panchakarma is the main healing treatment that facilitates cleansing and rejuvenation at all levels.
